In September of last year, we reminded you that no more major OS updates would come for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P after Oreo. Thanks to Ars Technica who has now confirmed with Google, the end has come for not just those two phones, but the Pixel C tablet, too.
While you won’t see any major OS updates after you’re on Android 8.1, don’t worry, as Google should still roll out security updates until November, 2018, a full 3 years after the devices were first launched.
If you’re still using a Nexus 5X, 6P, or Pixel C tablet, and you want to make sure you receive Android P at some point, you may want to consider upgrading your device to a new one.
Goodnight, sweet princes.
