Verizon’s LG V30 isn’t their only device picking up a new update today. The Verizon variants of the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and LG G5 are grabbing them as well. Unlike the V30’s update, which included some new UI tweaks, these updates appear to be nothing but security patches.
According to changelogs for all three devices (S7, S7 Edge, and G5), the trio is receiving January’s Android security update. The Galaxy S7 will see software version G930VVRS4BRA1, the S7 Edge will grab G935VVRS4BRA1, and the G5 will get VS9872DA.
UPDATE: Verizon has now posted details on even more updates, this time for the Galaxy S6 (G920VVRS4DRA1), Galaxy S6 Edge (G925VVRS4DRA1), Galaxy S6 Edge+ (G928VVRS3CRA1), and Galaxy Note 5 (N920VVRS3CRA1). Each of these phones is also receiving the January security patch.
I’d imagine the updates are on the smaller side, but make sure you have plenty of battery anyway. To check for them, head into Settings>System updates.
