Over the next “couple of weeks,” Google says that YouTube TV will expand into an additional 10 markets. Those markets are Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington, D.C., Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne and Charlotte. Where’s Portland, Google?
Those new markets join Chicago, LA, NYC, Philly, and San Francisco.
I’d love to tell you that you should strongly consider switching to YouTube TV should you live in one of those new markets, but I have yet to test it myself, since I do not yet live in any of those markets. With that said, Tim has tested it some after signing up in San Francisco when we were there for Google I/O, and he seems quite happy with it. Outside of the lack of channels, he has suggested that the app experience is far superior to some of the other services on the market. So if the channel line-up looks good to you, you may want to go for it.
Once these new markets are live, we’ll be sure to let you know.
