LG announced a new device this morning called the X Venture. I’m assuming that name is a play on “adventure,” since this is a rugged-esque metal-framed phone built for “on-the-go lifestyles” that need water resistance and a build that can withstand 14 different military toughness tests.
The X Venture features a 5.2-inch FHD (1080p) display, Snapdragon 435 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, rear 16MP camera, front 5MP camera, Android 7.0 Nougat, and a whopping 4100mAh battery. It also includes IP68 water and dust resistance, fingerprint sensor, Quick Charge 2.0, and comes in Black or Brown.
To make it even more outdoorsy, LG has loaded it with an Outdoor Essentials app that provides a barometer, compass, activity counter, exercise tracker, weather reporter, and flashlight. The phone even has a QuickButton, which is a hardware button that can be customized to whatever you like.
The X Venture sure sounds a lot like Samsung’s Active line, though it’ll be much cheaper.
AT&T has an exclusive on it here in the US. It arrives May 26 for as little as $11 per month.
