The U Ultra from HTC is now available for those who were patient enough to hold out for the official US launch. The international model has been available on Amazon and eBay, but at long last, HTC’s latest is available straight through its US website for $749.
We have had the U Ultra in-house for nearly a week, and we do have plenty to say in our upcoming review. If you need to brush up on the specs, considering it was announced back in January, you’re looking at a 5.7″ QHD display with secondary ticker display, Snapdragon 821, 4GB RAM, 12MP rear-facing camera, no headphone jack, no water resistance, 3,000mAh battery, and a high $749 unlocked price. It does have sexy color options, though: Metallic Blue, White, and Black.
As we mentioned, this device has been available through eBay and Amazon, sometimes for much lower than the $749 asking price. Since no variant offers Verizon or Sprint support, you might as well try and save as much as possible if the U Ultra is something you want. However, we do recommend getting it through HTC’s site if you already have a device you want to trade in. HTC will give up to $250 towards the purchase of a U Ultra, depending on the device. That’s decent savings. Not only that, but Uh Oh protection is only included if you purchase through HTC, which might be important for you.
Are you picking one up?
