And Now Sprint Caves in to HD Streams and Tethering With “Best Unlimited HD Plan Ever” For 1 Year

In reaction to T-Mobile’s reaction to Verizon’s reaction to the unlimited craze that has once again swept the wireless industry in the US, Sprint has another new unlimited plan to share with you today. This one is dubbed “Best Unlimited HD Plan Ever” and includes the same style of unlimited plan that Verizon introduced on Monday, which T-Mobile already had to match. It includes HD streaming and tethering without the extra up-charge.

So here’s the deal on this new unlimited (Sprint seriously just announced a $90 unlimited plan last week). You get unlimited talk, text, and data, HD-quality streaming (that’s up to 1080p, so no 4K for you), and 10GB of mobile hotspot per month per line (drops to 2G after 10GB). For a single line, that’s $50 per month. If you want 2 lines, that’s $90 per month. If you want 3 or 4 lines, Sprint says that will still be just $90 – but only for the next year, and with autopay turned on.

That’s right! Like last week’s unlimited plan from Sprint, this one is only good until March 31, 2018. At that time, your price will go up substantially. The first line will jump to $60 per month, second will be $40 per, and lines 3 and 4 will be $30 each. Care to do the math there? In a year, assuming you have 4 lines, your bill will jump from $90 per month to $160. You cool with that?

In other notes, Sprint is still throttling gaming at “up to 8Mbps” speeds and music at “up to 1.5Mbps” speeds. You’ll get high speed data “for most everything else,” though. Whatever that means, I guess?
