Sprint reacted to Verizon’s new $55-5GB individual plan this morning by announcing a $50 unlimited plan that is only available for the next four days. The new plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data, plus gives you the opportunity to add-on additional lines for a discount.
If you just need one line, you’ll pay $50 and get the unlimited talk, text, and data. Sprint’s version of “unlimited” data, of course, means a throttled experience for certain items, like watching “optimized” streaming video (480p resolution), playing online games (2Mbps connection), and listening to streamed music (500kbps). Outside of those downgrades in experience, Sprint does let you then consume as much data as you want per month.
If you need more lines, you can add a second for $40 extra. If you need even more, they’ll be just $30 a pop after the first $50 and $40 lines.
I should point out that the fine print reads, “After March 31, 2018, pay $60/mo.” So this promo price isn’t a life guarantee and Sprint fully expects to up the price to $60 in a year.
If interested, you can get more information at Sprint’s site. The promo ends on January 30.
