An update for the Chrome app (not the Beta and not the Dev app) is rolling out, labeled as version 55. Inside, users will be treated to four key changes: Easier downloading of music, videos and full web pages for offline viewing, downloads sharing within Chrome, misspelled words highlighting, and improvements to the contextual search UI.
For folks who do a good portion of web reading while in offline mode, Google is making it easier to save content to your device’s storage from the Chrome browser. For example, if there’s an article about any given subject, you can choose to save that article (along with all of its multimedia content) to offline for reading while on the subway.
Additionally, the Chrome development team also details you can share downloads within Chrome. Just make sure it’s not fake news you are sharing.
Check out the list of changes below, then go grab that update.
