Huawei Details Nougat Plans, Scheduled to Begin Q1 of 2017

Huawei’s latest smartphone, the Mate 9, ships with Nougat installed. From the two days I have been using it, it’s quite nice. However, there are plenty of other Huawei devices that don’t have Android 7.0+ yet, but the company has now detailed which phones are getting the update, and around when they can expect it. 

Reported by GSM Arena, Huawei indicates that phones like the Mate 8, P9 and P9 Plus can expect the Nougat update in Q1 of 2017, followed by others. Not only is the Nougat update upgrading the phones to the latest version of Android, but also includes EMUI 5. If you rock a Huawei phone, this is something you’ll want.

Phones scheduled to receive Nougat are as follows.

• Mate 8
• P9
• P9 Plus
• P9 lite
• nova
• nova Plus

Q1 isn’t too far away.
