Known HTC info leaker LlabTooFeR is back this week, essentially calling BS on HTC’s denial of last week’s Ocean news. In case you missed it, an HTC designer posted what appeared to be a concept reel of a device codenamed Ocean. The device features pressure sensitive touch controls instead of physical buttons, making it quite the futuristic device. However, HTC denied that it was a real project, with the designer removing the video almost as soon as it went up. Interestingly, the designer’s removal of the video is what gives credence to the idea that it may be real in the first place.
So, with that news fresh in the mind, three codenames are now floating around: Ocean Master, Ocean Note, and Ocean Smart. LlabTooFeR gave no other details or context, but did link to the previous Ocean information that was originally posted on Twitter by @evleaks.
Given that we have no further details, all we can do is speculate, and speculating is what we do best. Could this Ocean lineup be for 2017, with unveiling set to take place early next year? Is the Ocean Master the flagship, while Ocean Note is a phablet-like device and Ocean Smart is a mid-range unit? We just don’t know, but if this pressure-sensitive concept is indeed real, color us excited.
Rewatch the original Ocean clip below, then let us know if you are interested.
