Yesterday, Verizon pushed out a wave of updates to the Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy S6 Edge+ that included the latest security patches. Today, they are continuing to bring their line of phones up to current patch levels by updating the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The updates only offer the “most up to date Android security patch,” so don’t expect anything else. They will arrive as software version VRS4CPI2.
To check, head into Settings>System updates.
UPDATE: The LG G5 on Verizon is receiving an update as well, to software version VS98714A. The update weighs in at 271MB, which seems large, but the changelog only says that it “adds ‘Fast charging’ to the device display when your G5 is connected to certain USB Type-C PD 2.0 chargers.” (Cheers @yodatom10!)
UPDATE 2: Verizon’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are also seeing updates to software version VRS4APH1. This update actually went live a few days ago and we missed it, sorry.
