Video: Honor 8 Unboxing and Tour

With pre-sales still taking place for the Honor 8, what better time would there be to grace you with an unboxing and initial hands-on with the device? Listed at a price of $399 for the 32GB model, this is the first “flagship” device for the US from Honor, whose parent company happens to be Huawei.

For specs, the Honor 8 features a 5.2″ FHD display, HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, 4GB of RAM, dual 12MP rear-facing cameras (like on the Huawei P9), USB Type-C (USB 2.0), LTE connectivity for GSM carriers, microSD support, 32GB onboard storage (or 64GB for $50 extra), and the Huawei Emotion UI 4.1 on top of Android 6.0 “Marshmallow.”

One shining aspect of the Honor 8 is Honor’s recently announced partnership with XDA. Stemming from that partnership, if a large group of developers begin building custom ROMs for the device, this could be a very nice phone to have, considering the reasonable unlocked price.

If you are interested in picking up a Honor 8, you can find it on Amazon, Best Buy, or Honor’s website. Should you purchase from Honor’s website, you will receive a $50 coupon, bringing the price to $349.99. Not bad at all.

Let’s get to it.
