Fitbit introduced two updated fitness tracking devices this morning, the Charge 2 and Flex 2. The Charge 2, a sequel to Fitbit’s successful Charge HR, features updated tracking data, as well as an enlarged display and interchangeable bands. The Flex 2, a follow-up to the Fitbit Flex, brings a redesigned look, swim-proof design with swim tracking and a completely automatic exercise tracking experience.
Specifically, the Charge 2 brings “innovations” from PurePulse, such as continuous heart rate tracking, better tracking of calorie burn, and the ability to get a snapshot of your overall cardio fitness level. The Charge 2 also comes with multi-sport modes for tracking, connected GPS, a 4x larger display, and slimmed hardware design.
As for the Fitbit Flex 2, the company claims it is “swim-proof,” offers a 30% smaller design, plus a ton of accessory options for those who are fashion-focused. The “designer collections” for the Flex 2 include PUBLIC SCHOOL, Simply Vera Vera Wang, and Tory Burch. Seriously, you can slap this thing on pendants, bands, bracelets, and much more.
For pricing, the Charge 2 starts at $149.95 with a classic fitness band in Black, Blue, Plum, or Teal. Additional bands are sold for $29.95. Leather bands in Pink, Brown and Indigo are available for $69.95. Lastly, Special Edition bands in Gunmetal and Rose Gold are coming soon, priced at $179.95. The Flex 2 starts at $99.95, with bands priced at $14.95. A bangle accessory in Gold and Rose Gold is available for $99.95 or Stainless Steel for $89.95. Pendant accessories are also up for sale, priced at $99.95 in Gold and $79.95 in Stainless Steel.
