Leaker @evleaks posted an exciting note to Twitter last night for those interested in HTC’s next flagship, largely thought to be called the One M10. He Tweeted a short “It’s ALIVE,” along with the image you’ll see below that calls out the phone’s codename. He then followed that Tweet up with one suggesting that the One A9 might have served as inspiration for the M10.
In the image below, you can see that most has been blurred out, but Evan did leave the carrier, model number, and codename in the clear. While we aren’t sure of this image’s origin, it does look as if we should expect the One M10 to show up at AT&T at some point, under the codename “Perfume” and model number HTC 2PS650.
A quick search for that model number brings up a server log that shows the phone likely being testing in the wild around January 20 and running Android 6.0.1 build MMB29M. That is the latest version of Android.
As for the reference to the One A9, Evan could be referencing the design language of the phone. In other words, we could be in for another iPhone clone from HTC. Obviously, one should expect upgraded internals, like a Snapdragon 820 and a QHD display, but we could (and should) see a fingerprint sensor located at the home button location on the front chin, plus a combination of metals and glass. I don’t expect HTC to take any chances this year. Don’t be shocked if this is much of the same from the past couple of years.
If the HTC One M10 is just a more powerful One A9, are you going to be satisfied?
