The Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm is now in the wild, available first on the Letv Le Max Pro smartphone. Not only will buyers benefit from increased processing speeds of Qualcomm’s latest silicon, but the Le Max Pro also features Snapdragon Sense ID, the mobile industry’s first comprehensive ultrasonic-based fingerprint biometric solution.
Snapdragon Sense ID now includes a liveness detection feature, which helps to ensure that an actual finger is being used for biometric authentication, making it quite difficult to spoof the tech. The Le Max Pro is the first commercial device to ship with this feature baked inside.
According to Jun Liang, chief operating officer at Letv, “Letv has already established itself as one of the world’s top innovators and our decision to include the Snapdragon 820 processor in these new devices demonstrates our commitment to creating and delivering the best technology available to our customers,”
As for the Snapdragon 820, we have already gone over its features in details, but the highlights are X12 LTE modem, Adreno 530 GPU, Kyro CPU, and Quick Charge 3.0 compatibility. Although, the Le Max Pro comes with Quick Charge 2.0 support.
For US consumers, the Le Max Pro will not be available for purchase, but with it now being 2016, we can expect a range of new devices to launch with the processor inside.
