The Gear A, aka Orbis, was detailed this morning during Samsung’s Tizen Developer event, with confirmation that the smartwatch will feature a rotating bezel. This bezel will allow for users to zoom in on things, zoom out, and even interact with games made for the Tizen OS on wearables.
Other specs previously reported include an display resolution of 360 x 360, Exynos 3472 dual-core processor with 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 250mAh battery. While this device sounds pretty sweet, remember that it’s most likely the smartwatch will only be pair-able with Samsung devices, given it is running Tizen. This is also the case for previous Gear wearables.
Samsung has an event scheduled for August 13, where we expect to see the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, so it’s completely in the realm of possibility that we will see the Gear A unveiled there.
