OnePlus made a big deal about the OnePlus 2’s fingerprint sensor during the lead-up to the phone’s unveiling, calling it “refined and lightning quick.” Since we spent some time with the phone, we decided we should thoroughly test it and see how good it really was. To say that we came away impressed is probably an understatement.
For one, I used a OnePlus 2 with a fingerprint lock on it for a good hour today, testing it with my thumb over and over. Not once did it error out and ask me to re-try. Seriously, not once, and I probably used it close to 100 times. Second, I found it extremely handy to be able to unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner even with the phone in locked, screen-off state. What I mean is that you don’t have to wake the phone in order to unlock it with your fingerprint. Watch the video below for that to make more sense.
I don’t know that I can say just yet who has the best fingerprint scanner, but this one certainly seems to be up there.
