Verizon’s Galaxy Note 3 Gets Lollipop Today

Verizon’s Galaxy Note 3 is the next in line to receive the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. That gives Big Red seven devices that have now been bumped up to the newest version of Android, just don’t mention that to DROID Turbo owners.

The update, which is rolling out as version VRUEOB6, is a big one. Users can expect to see Material Design changes throughout, especially in Samsung’s stock apps. That means bolder colors, fluid animations, and floating action buttons everywhere. Outside of the shiny new looks, notifications will be more powerful (more control and on the lock screen), the app switcher turns into a stack of cards, and there are hidden features like Smart Lock.

If you want to see Samsung’s vision of Lollipop and TouchWiz on its pre-Galaxy S6 devices, check out this video we did of the Galaxy S5 running it.

To check for the update, head into Settings>About phone>Software updates>Check for updates.
