Starting today, your photo experience on Google should become slightly less perplexing, as now, Android users can view and organize their video and photo files from Google+ (aka the Photos app) directly through Google Drive.
If you have auto backup turned on through your Google+ app, every photo you take should be associated with your Google+ account, meaning your cloud-stored and on-device photos can all be access through the Photos application on your phone. Today, all of these photos can also be managed right from Drive, which gives you one more place to share and view your photos from.
“Google+ Photos will of course keep helping you store, edit and share your pics. But if you want to organize all your files, all in one place, Drive is here to help. You’ll start seeing your photos in Drive today—immediately if they’re new, and a few weeks for your entire library—so give it a try, and let us know what you think,” Google states in a blog post.
Of course, you still have your Gallery app on some phones if backing up all of your photos and videos is not necessary for you.
