This morning, Qualcomm announced four new Snapdragon processors, made specifically for those new to smartphones and in emerging markets, but that smartphone enthusiasts can appreciate as well. More precisely, we have the Snapdragon 415, 425, 618, and 620.
Each processor comes with integrated 4G LTE technology, allowing buyers of even budget-friendly devices to gain access to fast data speeds, while also providing plenty of computing juices. Even though the Snapdragon 415 and 425 are cool, the Snapdragon 618 and 620 are quite a bit nicer.
The Snapdragon 620 features ARM Cortex-A72 CPUs and a “next-gen” Qualcomm Adreno GPU. Not only that, the Snapdragon 620 also provides support for 4K Ultra HD video capture and playback, as well as support for 2K display resolution. The Snapdragon 618, however, will be the hexa-core variant of the 620, featuring the same core features.
Devices featuring these chips are expected to appear on the market in the second half of 2015.
