Yesterday, Amazon announced a new giveaway tool that could be used by pretty much anyone to give things away. It’s called Amazon Giveaway. Of course it is. Since we tend to do lots of giveaways, but also love buying stuff we don’t need from Amazon because it ships fast, we thought we should give it a spin and see if this could be our next giveaway tool. As you all know, we typically use Rafflecopter in giveaways. However, that doesn’t mean we aren’t always open to new options. So here we are!
How does this work? It’s pretty easy actually. We paid for a couple of prizes (2 Moto 360s in stone) through Amazon that we want to give away to you. Amazon then generated a contest page, which you need to be on to enter (link below). To enter, all you need to do is sign-in to your Amazon account, follow the one step required to enter, and then follow through to see if you won the contest. That’s it.
On our end, the work is basically done. We paid for the prizes already, so now we just wait for the giveaway to complete. Amazon handles all of the random winner picking by itself, then finishes up the shipping and logistics with you, since it already has all of that info, thanks to your Amazon account.
Make sense?
Feedback. Because this is the first time we have used this, we would love some feedback. Is it simple to use? Is it a pain in the rear? What’s good or bad about it? Then, click the link below to enter.
UPDATE: Annnnnnd done…that quickly. Amazon selected the winners. The contest period (which we couldn’t specify) was scheduled to run through Feb 17, 2015 11:59 PM PST, so my guess is that prizes won’t ship until February 18. So if you won, let us know if nothing happens.
UPDATE 2: Give us a bit and we’ll open another contest. That went way too quickly.
UPDATE 3: New link is live! Same deal. Give us feedback on the process.
UPDATE 4: Thanks, all! Second giveaway is over as well.
