Samsung Reported to Partner With Facebook to Create New Phone

According to Korean media outlets, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg recently held meetings with Samsung to discuss future projects. Concluding as a “win-win” meeting for both parties, it is being reported that Facebook may have found its next hardware partner in Samsung.

While neither side has confirmed any type of project that they are collaborating on, this won’t be the first time the companies have worked together. As you may recall, Samsung’s upcoming Gear VR headset was created in partnership with Oculus, which is currently owned by Facebook.

Facebook’s last phone, the HTC First, could go down as one of the industry’s biggest blunders, reportedly selling even fewer units than the HTC ChaCha. In addition to a possible phone, Facebook may look to partner with Samsung to pre-install FB software on Samsung devices, such as the official Facebook app and Messenger app.

If this plays out, and a new Facebook phone is produced by Samsung, it either proves that it really is “third time’s the charm” or both companies are completely blind as to what the public wants in a phone.
