Is Google Maps just not cutting it for you anymore? Well, no worries, because a very unlikely company is here to try and help, that being Nokia. The company’s proprietary map application, called HERE, has leaked onto the web, working perfectly for any Android device running Android 4.0+, as long as its not Samsung hardware.
The app features a fantastic offline mode (I would say even better than Google’s), downloadable maps to store onto your device, turn-by-turn navigation, 3D mapping of cities, plus a whole lot more.
One very nifty feature is a “Speed limit warning,” which will go off if you happen to be breaking the road’s posted speed limit. Who knows, you might just have to send a letter to Nokia thanking them for saving you from a speeding ticket sometime.
The app is currently labeled as a Beta, but from what I can tell on my LG G3, it works quite flawlessly. To install, simply download from the link below, choose whether or not to login to a Nokia HERE account, and then start mapping.
