Google Play’s 15-minute refund window on paid apps and games has been a source of frustration for many users, and while workarounds existed, the official policy remained the same. Thankfully, it’s changing for the better. Today, apps and games can now be returned within two hours for a full refund.
Observant users may note that this has been unofficial policy for a while, as Google apparently began testing a longer refund window last month, but the company has finally inked the new policy. The news should be especially welcome to those who download large games from the Play Store.
While it may not be as lenient as the 24-hour window retired in 2010, it’s an improvement. Here’s hoping Google reaches better middle ground in the future.
Now, go buy some apps. And if you like them, feel free not to test this new policy.
