HTC Unveils the Desire 820, Features Snapdragon 615 With 64-bit Support

HTC unveiled a new device early this morning, the Desire 820, showcasing it to media at IFA in Berlin, Germany. Separating it from the competition, the Desire 820 features Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, complete with 64-bit support and big.LITTLE architecture.

Besides being one of the first phones to pack full 64-bit support, even though that feature won’t really matter until Google pushes Android L to the general public, the Desire 820 is geared towards the mid to high range market, featuring a 5.5″ HD display, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear-facing shooter, 8MP front-facing shooter, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE connectivity, 2,600mAh battery, and running Android 4.4+.

HTC states that the Desire 820 will be available in select regions sometime “later in the fall,” but no exact date or pricing was made available.

In our opinion, once Android L is available for the mainstream, this could be a nice little device.
