While it’s a bit of a stretch to call Chromecast a game console, Google’s $35 streaming stick now sports a sizable library of playable apps. One of the most logical to come along is Cardcast, a deck-casting application that allows you to cast created and downloaded card deck from your Android devices to a synced Chromecast.
The app couldn’t be more simple. To start, up to ten players can connect to a single Chromecast for playing a game. A respectable library of popular decks, among them Cards Against Humanity and Apples to Apples, are available for download through the Cardcast website. For those unfamiliar with how those games play, a single “judge” player reads out a topic or subject card, then the rest of the players submit answer or related cards, usually resulting in humorous situations. The judge then choose a winner, and the judge position rotates to the next player.
Truly creative types can edit and share custom card decks with the world, allowing the fun to never spoil or become dull.
Itching to spice up family game night? Cardcast is free through Google Play.
