According to sources of ours, Verizon has a handful of announcements prepared that involve happenings on July 10 and July 17. Outside of their plans to make 4G LTE a part of their ALLSET prepaid plan, which we first reported last week, we should also expect a big 50% off phone deal that will run for a couple of weeks, along with pre-orders and launch dates for the Xperia Z2 Tablet, LG G3, and G Watch.
Starting tomorrow, Verizon is hosting a 50% off phone deal that will run from July 10 through July 27. You will see phones included in the deal like the Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8), Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 5s, and yes, the LG G3. Obviously, these discounts require a new 2-year agreement, which will bring them down to $99.99 (GS5, G3, One) or $149.99 (Note 3) on-contract. There will be discounts on a variety of other phones as well, like the original One (M7) for $49.99, Moto X for $24.99, and Galaxy S4 for $49.99.
Speaking of the LG G3, sources informed us that Verizon will make the phone available on July 17 with a pre-order kicking off tomorrow. The original price was expected to be $199 on-contract, but the 50% off deal we just mentioned will indeed bring it down to $99.99 with new 2-year agreement. We are told that the LG G Watch (review) will join the G3 with a pre-order tomorrow as well.
The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will go up for pre-order starting tomorrow, with a launch of July 17. If you needed further proof of that, take a look at Verizon’s Testman site which already lists the tablet as being available for pre-order. Unfortunately, we have no word on the Xperia Z2 phone, only that the employee training leak from yesterday was actually referring to the tablet, not the phone.
On a related note, we should see open enrollment for equipment protection plans run from July 10 through September 9, in case you missed out on that protection opportunity at the time of purchase.
Tomorrow should be a big day.
