Need proof that the mid-range smartphone market is booming? If Motorola’s announcement wasn’t evidence enough, ZTE’s new Concord II handset might convince you.
The Concord II’s specifications are anything but impressive, but that is not very surprising for a budget smartphone. It has a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5 MP camera, 1,820mAh battery, and no LTE.
Those compromises assuredly helped ZTE reach the off-contract price point of $150, but just like the Moto E, it is difficult to recommend the Concord II to anyone who does not desperately need a smartphone on the cheap.
T-Mobile customers will be able to pick up the Concord II later today. Metro PCS will begin offering the smartphone sometime next week.
