US Cellular to Expand 4G LTE Coverage in 13 States

These days, every wireless carrier is practically begging for your business with attractive deals and competitive pricing, and it’s not just the incumbent giants who are joining in the frenzy. US Cellular only yesterday announced that it will pay your ETF to switch to new plans like its contract-free Simple Connect, and today revealed that it’s expanding 4G LTE coverage in 13 states.

US Cellular’s network buildout is focused squarely on small and mid-sized cities, so those beyond the border of a metropolis may be out of luck. That said, the carrier maintained that its addition of more than 1,200 4G LTE cell towers would provide coverage to more than 93 percent of customers by the end of 2014.

New markets include Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and North Carolina. States with enhanced service are Iowa, Illinois, Maine, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Cities set to receive 4G LTE soon are Oklahoma City, Emporia, Kan., and Door County, Wis.
