According to the newest leak, Samsung has yet another tablet on the way, to go along with the assortment of slates that were debuted at this year’s CES back in January. We already have the Galaxy Tab4 series, Galaxy TabPro lineup and Galaxy NotePro device, which features a 12.2″ display, but Samsung now has a 10.5″ Super AMOLED-toting tablet coming (model number SM-T800), complete with a few top-tier specs.
In addition to the 10.5″ Super AMOLED display with 2560 × 1600 resolution, the device will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 801 processor (or Exynos chip depending on the market), 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, come in three storage option models (16/32/64GB), a microSD slot for additional storage, USB 2.0 connectivity (not 3.0?), a 7,900mAh battery, come in WiFi-only or 4G LTE-enabled variants, and come running Android 4.4.2 out of the box.
No exact word on when we can expect the release of this new lineup, but does it exactly matter at this point?
Samsung clearly isn’t about differentiating these devices to the public, and is instead focused more on flooding the market so consumers are forced to either buy one of these or an iPad. It’s a scary thought that only one Android OEM currently has the power to do this, but it also shows that the company seems rather unconfident in its ability to release a single competitor device to the iPad. I mean, why do you really need more than five different tablets that all do the same thing?
Something to ponder.
