According to a new report out of Korea, Samsung isn’t quite done yet releasing products in the wearable field. The company recently unveiled three new wearable devices, the Gear 2, Gear Neo, and the Gear Fit, but in true Samsung fashion, there is more!
The company is set to release a SIM-enabled version of the Gear 2, reportedly called Gear Solo, in Korea and possibly more countries down the road.
As the name suggests, the Solo will be able to handle making and receiving calls, without the need of syncing to a smartphone. The device is set to launch in Korea through Samsung Electronics and SK Telecom within the next few weeks.
As stated, there doesn’t appear to be initial American plans for the device, but we shall see. It’s hard to imagine that Americans would be completely ready to give up their smartphones in place of just a watch.
