Dragon Mobile Assistant, the free Android virtual assistant app from Nuance, is receiving an update to version 5.2 today with a couple of neat goodies. The main attraction is Nuance’s voice print recognition features, which allows users’ devices to respond only to them and to even wake up when a command is given.
By teaching the service your voice print through the app, you’ll be able to cut down on others’ being able to command your device. You’ll also be able to unlock your device using a command, but stay wary as this will likely impact battery life significantly.
Also added in the update is support for landscape mode, which means hands-free usage in the Drive Mode will be made a little bit more smooth. The final new feature (apart from bug fixes, of course) is an improved in-app web browser, with greater efficiency in downloading content and the ability to share right from your results.
The free app update is available on Google Play right now. Give the new voice recognition features a shot and let us know how it’s impacting your battery down in the comments.
