About a week ago, Samsung began to roll out an Android 4.4.2 update to Galaxy Note 3 devices over in Europe, and it appears the manufacturer is now on a roll. As reported by SamMobile, Samsung is now seeding the update to Exynos-powered variants of the device, model number SM-900N. Most units purchased on a US carrier will feature Snapdragon 800 processors, so we shouldn’t get too excited just yet.
While updates are fantastic, here in America we have four different major carriers who handle updates differently. No word has come yet from any carrier or Samsung as to when US consumers should expect the Kit Kat update, but we hope it’s soon.
Kit Kat brings a few visual changes to the Note 3, as well as more TouchWiz tweaks from Samsung. When playing music, you will notice the fullscreen album art lockscreen effect that Nexus 5 users have been enjoying since its release, but that’s about it.
Once Samsung and US carriers start breaking silence on when users can expect to see an update (if they do at all), we will let you know.
