Chromecast welcomed in 10 new supported apps this morning in an announcement from Google. Previously, Google’s HDMI dongle only supported 7 apps, with recent additions of HBO Go and Pandora helping up that number which had sat at a handful since the device’s launch back in the summer. We sort of expected others to join the party much sooner, but Google has remained mostly closed about Chromecast and 3rd party developers. That’s still mostly the case, as the new apps are all big names. But either way, at least you have 10 more reasons to put that $35 plug to work.
The list of new apps is as follows:
- VEVO
- Red Bull.TV
- Songza
- PostTV
- Viki
- Revision 3
- BeyondPod
- Plex
- Avia
- RealPlayer Cloud
Yessir.
