Moto X With Wood Backs to Miss Thanksgiving, Should Arrive for Holiday Shoppers (Update: Is Gold Coming Too?)

The million dollar question this holiday season is, “Where the heck are the wood backs for the Moto X?” Motorola has been very hush hush about when MotoMaker will feature this design option, but fortunately we have seen leaks here and there to let us know the option was still down the road. According to a Reuters reporter’s tweet this morning, the wood back options will miss Thanksgiving, but will be available in time for holiday shoppers. That means we should only have a couple weeks left of waiting, folks.

Once available, there should be the same four options we have known for a while – ebony, teak, rosewood, and bamboo. Not only do the options look very different from one another, but since this is real wood, we are hoping they each have their own certain qualities to them.

I personally have been waiting for the wood backs to become available before dropping dough on the Moto X and I’m hoping the wait will be worth it. Anyone else waiting for Moto to drop wood?

Update:  While digging through the Motorola site yet again, we have stumbled upon a new listing for “Gold” right alongside the wood options. Whether Gold could be a complete body color or just button accents, it is now there and was not before. Your move, Moto.
