If you plug your Galaxy S4 from Verizon into a computer and happen to have Verizon’s Software Upgrade Assistant installed, you should be prompted with an update. The update appears to be pretty minor, but does jump the build number up to VRUDMI1 from VRUAME7. It is still Android 4.2.2, however.
At least one of our readers received the update (screenshot above), and our personal device is showing that an upgrade is available, though we’re receiving an error when trying to install it.
With the update holding the phone to Android 4.2.2, I wouldn’t expect much outside of potential security fixes. So if you are rooted, I’d stay clear until we know more. As soon as Verizon posts the support documents, we’ll be sure to pass them along.
Cheers patracy91!
