If you are the type of person who doesn’t care to hang on to devices you are no longer using, then it’s likely that you attempt to sell them. There are many different ways to do that, though. There are sites like Gazelle or the more-interesting route of meeting up with a stranger you met off of Craigslist, while in the back of your mind hoping they don’t attempt to rob you. Don’t kid yourself, it does happen. A service called Sold has been made available for Android device users, which should take out all of the hard work in the process of selling a phone.
The way Sold works is very simple, and kind of like Gazelle. With Sold, you snap some pictures of your device, then send them in for the device to be appraised by a real person, not a robot or lumped-together evaluation process. Once you are given an offer, you can choose to accept or decline. There is no requirement to sell if you don’t like the offer. If you accept, Sold sends you a box for the device to be shipped in. Once Sold receives the device, money gets sent to you. Sounds pretty straightforward to us.
For reference, the site claims that you can get up to $391 for an HTC One, $447 for the Galaxy S4, $437 for a Galaxy Note 2, and $87 for a Galaxy Nexus. Big money for those Nexus phones. /s
If you happen to try it out, let us know what you think. There is an official Android app on Google Play to help you get started.
