Motorola Updates Ice Cream Sandwich Timeline – Bionic and Xyboard 8.2 Officially Pushed to Q4

Yesterday, we pointed out a conversation that Motorola’s Punit Soni was having with DROID Bionic owners over the fact that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the device has not arrived on time. Soni made it clear that the new group of Moto leaders was going to do everything in their power to not only make sure situations like this do not happen in the future, but also wanted people to know that they are working to fix the problem now. One of the first plans of attack was to get a new deadline for the Bionic, something he followed through on this morning.

As many of you are well aware, the original deadline for the device was set at “early Q3,” but things have now officially shifted to Q4 of this year. The DROID Xyboard 8.2 joins it, even though the Xyboard 10.1 received Android 4.0 back in mid-August and the devices are almost identical aside from screen size.

For Soni’s sake and the rest of the new executive team at Motorola, I hope they can at least meet Q4 – and hopefully early Q4 – or it’s going to be a rocky start.
