Astro File Manager Receives UI Overhaul With Quicker Navigation, Access to Google Drive and Dropbox

Astro File Manager, one of the most popular file browsers on Android, received a major overhaul today. Actually, this is almost beyond being just an overhaul – this is like the introduction of a whole new app.

First, the UI is completely different. It’s built off of ICS guidelines, includes panel swiping to reveal menus, storage locations, settings, and other shortcuts. You can quickly browse through recently used or added files, search by filetype, and even save those same searches for later use.

Beyond the UI changes, the Astro team also included support for Dropbox and Google Drive. You can now access your files and folders from two of the more popular cloud storage service options on the planet.

Update:  According to the Play store listing, this update is only for Jelly Bean users. Sorry, ICS users.

All I can say is, “Well done, Astro.”
