Usually Facebook updates mean very little on Android as we watch their 1.5-person dedicated team (I just made that up) attempt to bring the app into the realm of the iOS version.  Last night though, they actually released a pretty meaningful set of features that does make the app a lot more attractive and feature-packed.  You can now swipe between photo galleries, pull down your news feed to refresh it, decide which groups of people get to see your new posts (a la G+), tag people in them, and even do it all from your tablet.  Again, pretty solid update this time around.

Full changelog:

  1. Made it easier to share with who you want
  2. Improved the sharing tool to add privacy controls on posts and match your settings on the web site
  3. Added the ability to tag friends and places in posts
  4. Added new design for Profile and Group Walls
  5. Improved photo browsing with swiping
  6. Added the ability to tag your friends in photos
  7. Improved Messages and Notifications
  8. Fixed a number of crashes and performance issues
