All of last week’s Gingerbread launch date rumors surrounded Eric Schmidt and his appearance at the Web 2.0 Summit, but this week it’s all about Andy Rubin. Schmidt may not have announced Android 2.3 during his interview, but he did show off the Nexus S and drop a pretty major hint that 2.3 should be out in the “next few weeks.” So if his prediction holds true, then the appearance of Rubin, Android’s master, at the Dive Into Mobile conference in two weeks (December 6-7) should mark the spot.
Actually, we’ve got a good feeling about this one. The Dive Into Mobile conference has some pretty major players coming to speak including Sprint’s Dan Hesse, so this would be the perfect time for this news to drop. We should also point out that Rubin is opening the 2-day event in an evening interview.
Can you all wait another 2 weeks?
