The Deutsche Bank Tech Conference sure seemed like the place to have been this week. First we had Motorola CEO, Sanjay Jha using some choice words for the rumored Droid tablet, and now we have Electronic Arts new CFO, Eric Brown dropping bombs on the Android gaming front. According to Brown, they see Android as the next big thing for mobile gaming and are positioning themselves…
“So I think there’s a lot to happen in the future in Android, and we’re trying to position our mobile business to take advantage of that trend.”
Brown also points out that the Android Market needs an overhaul in order to compete with Apple’s, but has confidence in that happening…
“I think the next big positive wave to push better growth in mobile will be the deployment of an App Store equivalent for the Android operating system,” Brown said at a Q&A as part of the Deutsche Bank 2010 Technology Conference. “We think long term … the Android market is going to take its share.”
This is exactly what we love to hear. Big gaming companies bringing their awesomeness to Android. In just the last few weeks we’ve had the release of Angry Birds, an OpenFeint onslaught, and Epic hinting at their Unreal Engine backing some Android games. Feel the takeover. Feel it!
And yes, Madden 11 is headed to Android (tweeted yesterday by @EAmobile)…
Who’s ready for some Madden on their DX’s 4.3″ screen? TWoods on their DI? FIFA on their D2?
