Android Brings Froyo Now, Gingerbread in Q4

Yep, we’re already talking about a new version of Android well before we’ve actually seen Froyo running anywhere.  During yesterday’s keynote at Google I/O, there was a ton of talk about all things multimedia including a new project called WebM.  And yesterday, the world spotted this FAQ from the WebM site which hints at the next Android OS…

Quarter 4 of 2010?  Yessir!  Who knows if it will be 2.3, 2.5, or 3.0, but we do remember Google talking about eliminating fragmentation forever.  Maybe that time comes with Gingerbread?
