Google Maps is more collaborative than ever today, thanks to a new group planning feature that is going live on the service this week for both Android and iOS. Starting today, if you are ever trying to plan an outing with friends but can’t decide where to go, you’ll be able to group locations together, share them with friends, and then allow everyone to vote for the place to go.
To get started, you’ll look for something like “restaurants” on Google Maps. In the list that pops up, you can long-press on a location to have it added to a shortlist. To keep adding additional places, just keep long-pressing on more locations. You’ll then share the list with friends, add or remove places, and even let them vote for their favorites.
The feature is already live for me, so feel free to grab the latest Maps update and give it a shot.
