Samsung’s rumored luxurious round smartwatch, codenamed Orbis, known as Gear A, had its specs revealed by the good folks at SamMobile this morning, painting the picture of quite a device. However, before you get too excited, do note that we expect the Gear A will run Tizen, not Android Wear.
For specifications, the Gear A is reported to feature a completely round Super AMOLED display (360 x 360), Exynos 3472 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, Mali-400 MP4 GPU, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, GPS, and a 250mAh battery. It will also feature Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
On top of specs, it has been reported that the smartwatch will feature a rotatable bezel ring for navigating part of the watch’s UI, in addition to a digital crown. The digital crown, as you might know, is also featured on the Apple Watch.
This smartwatch is expected to be announced during Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 event, penciled in currently for August 12.
