A new Verizon roadmap covering the foreseeable future was just released through BGR and includes a new Droid family member that until recently, had been one giant and ridiculous rumor. We are talking about the Droid Pro. The mythical creature that has been feeding forum chatter with some outlandish specs for weeks now has some semi-hard facts attached to it…
In addition to the Motorola DROID and Motorola DROID X, we’re told Motorola will launch a new DROID handset, the Motorola DROID Pro. It is supposed to have a 1.3GHz CPU, 4″ screen and global roaming capabilities. Estimated launch of November 2010
Loving the sounds of that? We should also toss out the fact that 2 of our sources essentially called this the “Droid 2 for business users” meaning it’s a global version of the Droid 2 which launches this week.
Also included in the roadmap was additional talk of the Motorola tablet which we can only hope receives the “Droid” tag…
Motorola is also working on a tablet as well, except it will sport a 10″ screen, either 1GHz or 1.3GHz CPU, front-facing camera, and Android 3.0. Don’t expect the Motorola so soon though, as we’re informed that while the launch was supposed to happen in December, Android 3.0 will probably hold up the release of that device and we should expect it around February 2011.
Invest in a paper towel company now, we’ll need plenty to mop up the drooling that is set to take place over the next 6 months.
Anyone now thinking about holding out for the Droid Pro?
